Vince Cable: I am honouring Remembrance Day at the Cenotaph in Whitehall, and yesterday I did so at the Richmond Synagogue.
Nearly every family in this country has a relative who was killed or injured in the Great War. My maternal grandfather was badly wounded, taken prisoner and his health was permanently damaged.
Today we remember them and we honour their sacrifice.
