Sussex By-Elections

LibDems have won nearly all the by-elections in Sussex so far in 2025! What a satisfying bar chart!

We have won 9 out of 11 County/District/Borough by-elections in April, May & June 2025, coming second in one by just 10 painful votes. In another we were third, but increased our vote share by 16%, making it our best result in the city for decades.

So far we haven’t had a by-election in Wealden, so some of our activists & councillors have been out campaigning in other parts of Sussex (and over the border in Tunbridge Wells for their Kent County Council elections), so it’s rewarding to see such fabulous results.

In July we have a by-election in Wealden for Uckfield Town Council and our fabulous candidate is Kathy Butler (polling day July 10th). Good luck Kathy!
