Scott Walters Elected to Crowborough Town Council

Scott lives locally in the ward with his family. He’s lived in Jarvis Brook for nearly 20 years. He moved down from London with his wife in 2008 to start a family, and all four of his children went to Jarvis Brook primary school where he’s a parent governor. His two oldest children now go to the local secondary school, Beacon Academy. He’s a solicitor working in London and he uses Crowborough station regularly to commute to and from work. His wife volunteers at the ScrapStore.
Scott has already started work in the ward. He says: “I will be meeting with Crowborough’s Alliance for Wealden District Councillors to ensure the ongoing progress of those projects that have applied for grants from Wealden District Council. I have already raised awareness of an overgrown hedge on Crowborough Hill. I’ll be going along to future meetings of the Jarvis Brook Community Association. I also plan to get involved with the Western Road residents’ group too. I objected to the building work on Osborne Road, partly on the basis that there’s completely inadequate provision for parking. Also because there were lots of slow worms and newts on the land. I used to see several each summer in my back garden, but I’ve seen none since they cleared the land and started work.
I am positive about recent improvements in Jarvis Brook, including the refurbishment of the play area in Jarvis Brook recreation ground, the new retail park (with Screwfix, the pet shop and Busy Bees Nursery) and the purchase of the land near The Ghyll nature reserve, and I am looking forward to supporting ongoing & future projects, such as ArtyTime Scrapstore extension & Youth Centre, the Skate Park extension and the opening of the Community Hub”.
