Beverley Johnstone for Crowborough North & Jarvis Brook
Bev has lived on the Crowborough/ Rotherfield border for sixteen years. During that time she has been a Liberal Democrat councillor for Crowborough Town Council, supporting work on local leisure facilities, leading an initiative to improve the station environment through planting and artwork, and serving as fair trade representative; she is currently she is Vice-Chair of Rotherfield Parish Council.
Bev’s aim is to make Crowborough North and Jarvis Brook as good a place as it can be for all, supporting local services and initiatives and listening to the community.
Bev looks forward to helping shape policy at East Sussex County Council and making the best use of stretched resources – particularly on road safety and tackling potholes. A retired state school teacher, Bev recognises the challenges facing local schools, pupils and parents, and will advocate for responsive, cost-effective local services. She volunteers for a local charity combatting loneliness and isolation in the community.
