Uckfield candidates Tim Murray and Chris Bowers at local protest

The Lib Dem candidates standing for election in the East Sussex County County divisions of Uckfield North and Uckfield South with Framfield are Tim Murray and Chris Bowers, respectively. Last Saturday they both attended an outdoor protest meeting organised by residents regarding an ongoing issue in Uckfield - swarming flies that have been plaguing residents for the past couple of years.

"It was great to be invited to join the protest on Saturday and hear from more residents about how they are affected by the flies," says Tim, pictured talking with one of the event organisers, Den McCartney. "The residents have formed a hard-working community action group to challenge Southern Water on this long-standing issue. It was great to catch up with Den, Mark and Sue; as well as many of the residents I have met whilst out and about in Uckfield."

Both Tim and Chris are Green Liberal Democrats, and Chris recently received their official candidate accreditation in acknowledgement of his longtime environmental work.
